John Albert Garner, 87, a farmer in Boone County most of his life, died Wednesday night shortly before midnight at his home, 717 S. Walnut St. He had been ill nine days. Born Sept. 4, 1870, near Advance, Mr. Garner was the son of Elias and Susan McIntire Garner. He married Myrtie L. Richardson June 16, 1903. Mr. Garner engaged in farming southeast of Shannondale. He had lived in Crawfordsville since 1948. Survivors include the widow, a son, Sherman Garner; a grandson, Robert Garner; and a brother, Charles Garner of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hunt and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Jamestown IOOF Cemetery Friends may call at the funeral home.
